About the Role

As a Finance Officer, you will provide high-quality financial and budgetary services, supporting informed decision-making at senior levels. Working closely with the Senior Management Accountant, you will:

  • Maintain divisional budgets, including workforce and expenditure forecasting.

  • Assist in preparing financial reports and analysis for executive leadership and Treasury.

  • Provide expert financial advice to ensure best practices and compliance.

  • Oversee transactions and maintain the integrity of the general ledger.

  • Contribute to the development of financial policies and procedures.

  • Support the team in driving efficiency and continuous improvement in financial operations.

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience in financial and budget management, ideally within the SA public sector.

  • Strong knowledge and experience in Excel
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and compliance frameworks.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage and advise stakeholders effectively.

  • Highly organised, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities.

  • Tertiary qualifications in finance or accounting (or working towards) are desirable.
