Our Federal Government client is seeking multiple Case managers for a 6-12 month non ongoing role. 

Contract: Non-Ongoing roles - 6 - 12 month/ S26 transfer

Branch Overview

Position Summary
Performance, Behaviour and Complex Case team
The Workplace Behaviour positions within the Performance and Behaviours Section support the Health, Safety and Wellbeing Branch to provide advice to staff, including management and coordination of action in response to allegations of discrimination, harassment, bullying or victimization, and other inappropriate behaviour at a national level.

Prevention activities are also undertaken by the Workplace Behaviour team which include supporting staff and managers when responding to and resolving workplace behaviour matters within the work area in a timely manner.

The team also provides specialist advice and support to all staff in relation to underperformance management and terminations under section 29 of the PS Act, including, but not limited to, invalidity retirements and voluntary redundancies.

Prevention activities are also undertaken which include the delivery of training on underperformance, probation and managing complex staffing matters and one on one coaching and advice provided to Managers and Supervisors dealing with complex staffing issues.

Specific Duties / Responsibilities:
Performance, Behaviour and Complex Case team

· Manage phone and email enquiries regarding routine and complex advice regarding, workplace behaviour and the formal complaint process
· Provide timely and relevant expert advice and support regarding the end-to-end workplace behaviour complaint process and strategies for dealing with inappropriate behaviour to clients and stakeholders in accordance with Workplace Behaviour policy and procedures
· Assessment and management of inappropriate workplace behaviour cases from end to end
· Prepare Fact Finding (establish facts) and/or Enquiry Reports (establish if complaint is substantiated and recommendations for action) for workplace behaviour
· Develop strong working relationships with stakeholders including line areas
· Maintain the Workplace Behaviour mailbox
· Maintain records of complaints and advice
· Complete ad-hoc administrative and coordination functions for the team and section as required
· Provide statistics for reporting purposes
· Provide advice to staff and managers in relation to underperformance management, terminations, invalidity retirements, voluntary redundancies
· Provide support and guidance to employees/managers and the Delegate throughout the entire Performance Management/Managing Underperformance process
· The effective management of underperformance casework, including obtaining background material, implementation of appropriate processes and negotiation and delivery of quality outcomes
· Provide advice to managers and staff on the VR process, vetting of requests to ensure ‘a genuine redundancy’, coordination of requests for approval by delegate, workflow of applications for processing and finalisation and preparation of termination on finalisation of VR
· Provide advice in relation to matters that may lead to termination of employment (e.g. non-performance of duties, underperformance, failure to meet a condition of engagement such as probation, early cessation of non-ongoing contracts, invalidity retirement and voluntary redundancy).
· Manage and administer termination of employment arrangements, preparation of all letters and notices associated with terminations.
· Provide guidance and facilitate outcomes for managers dealing with complex staffing issues. The role has a consultancy feature where we advise managers and supervisors on steps and tactics for improving staff performance.
· Management of complex cases spanning medical, legal, and work Health and Safety issues.
· Management of escalated inquiries, inbox email management and helpdesk functions

Role Requirements/Qualifications
Highly desired:
· highly developed writing skills to contribute to composing assessments, reports and outcomes of complaints;
· highly developed communication skills to facilitate and promote effective interactions and working relationships with employees, colleagues and stakeholders.
· highly developed verbal communication skills to deliver targeted advice and support to diverse audiences.
· work independently or under limited guidance to deliver quality outcomes.
· conduct research, data analysis and fact-finding enquiries to draw conclusions and make evidence-based recommendations and findings.
· experience working in conducting enquiries and/or case management would be advantageous;
· highly developed writing skills to draft correspondence in relation to Delegate decisions.
· demonstrated understanding of Human Resource functions and employment policy.
· demonstrated research and analytical skills.
· high level ability to apply and interpret legislation and policy.
· effective communication and stakeholder management skills; and
· a thorough understanding of dynamic employment frameworks governed by the Fair Work. 1999

Desirable:
· Human Resources experience, skills and qualifications
· formal qualifications in Human Resources, Employment Law and or Training and Assessment.
